Lounge access terms of use
By accessing any Lounge, you and your permitted Guests and Children agree to these Terms. If you and/or your Guests and/or Children do not agree to these Terms, do not access any Lounge.
Each Eligible Entrant is responsible for complying with and ensuring that their Guests and/or any Children comply with these Terms.
These Terms should be read in conjunction with the Air New Zealand Privacy statement, Koru Programme terms and conditions, Airpoints terms and conditions and any applicable partner terms and conditions. These Terms are effective from the date of publication and may be amended by Air New Zealand from time to time.
Definitions
Unless the context otherwise requires, in these Terms:
Air New Zealand means Air New Zealand Limited;
Air New Zealand Lounge means any Air New Zealand operated and branded Domestic, Regional or International Lounge, each as detailed on the Website, as updated from time to time, and excludes any Partner Lounge;
Child or Children means a person 3-17 years inclusive;
Eligible Entrant means any individual who is entitled to access a Lounge, in accordance with the Lounge eligibility criteria detailed on the Website from time to time;
Guest means an individual entering a Lounge, on a one-off basis, as an invited guest of an Eligible Entrant in accordance with the Eligible Entrant's guest entitlement rights detailed on the Website and the Terms, as updated from time to time;
Infant means a person two (2) years of age or under;
Lounge means any or all Air New Zealand Lounge(s) and / or Partner Lounge(s) and associated facilities;
Occupant means an individual who has been granted entry into a Lounge and is occupying the Lounge (including Guests and Children);
Partner Lounge means any lounge owned or operated by or on behalf of a third party, outside of New Zealand and identified as a partner lounge on the Website Partner Lounge directory page, as updated from time to time;
Terms means these Lounge Access Terms of Use outlining the terms and conditions on which access to the Lounges is granted and which shall be read in conjunction with the Air New Zealand Privacy statement, Koru Programme terms and conditions, Airpoints terms and conditions and any applicable partner terms and conditions;
Website means any global Air New Zealand operated and branded website, including, but not limited to the New Zealand website at www.airnewzealand.co.nz.
General
Air New Zealand may at any time vary these Terms and the Lounge access entitlements in any way. In particular, Air New Zealand may: (i) close, change, remove or cease to operate a Lounge or other facilities; (ii) open or access new lounges or other facilities; (iii) temporarily restrict access to any Lounge for any reason; (iv) vary the hours of operation, layout, location or services provided in any Lounge or other facility; (v) impose restrictions on the use or access to any Lounge or facility, as may be reasonably required or convenient for the proper administration of any Lounge or facility.
Terms of entry to Air New Zealand Lounges
Eligible Entrants are entitled to access the Air New Zealand Lounge at their port of departure, in accordance with the Air New Zealand Lounge eligibility criteria detailed on the Website from time to time. Eligibility criteria may be subject to change at Air New Zealand's discretion from time to time.
Air New Zealand Lounges are only accessible for the four (4) hour period directly prior to an Occupant's scheduled departure time. Air New Zealand Lounge staff have the discretion to allow an Occupant to stay longer where the Occupant is in international transit.
Eligible Entrants and Occupants, upon request, must be able to present evidence to support their valid access and entry into a Lounge. Such evidence may include valid Star Alliance, Airpoints or Koru membership details and an applicable boarding pass.
Air New Zealand Lounge staff have the discretion to decline any request for entry into an Air New Zealand Lounge, by any person at any time, if, in their reasonable opinion: (i) the person has not or will not comply with the Terms; (ii) the person's behaviour is disruptive, inappropriate or offensive; (iii) the person is intoxicated; (iv) the Air New Zealand Lounge is full or nearing capacity; or (v) declined entry is necessary for the orderly operation of the Air New Zealand Lounge, other facilities or the safety and/or comfort of other people in the Lounge (including staff).
An Occupant must immediately leave an Air New Zealand Lounge if asked to do so by any Air New Zealand Lounge staff member. A staff member may ask an Occupant to leave an Air New Zealand Lounge if they reasonably consider: (i) the person to be intoxicated; (ii) the person's behaviour to be disruptive, inappropriate or offensive; (iii) the person fails to comply with the Terms or any reasonable staff requests or instructions; (iv) the person has stayed in the Air New Zealand Lounge for a period greater than four (4) hours; or (v) the removal is necessary for the orderly operation of the Air New Zealand Lounge or the safety or comfort of the other Occupants.
Use of Air New Zealand Lounge facilities and services
Access to any Air New Zealand Lounge is only available during the individual Air New Zealand Lounge's operating hours. Air New Zealand Lounge operating hours may vary by location. Please refer to the Website for individual lounge operating hours.
Access to Air New Zealand Lounge facilities and services are subject to availability, capacity and hours of operation.
Any Occupant who is under the legal drinking age must not consume any alcohol in the Lounge. The legal drinking age may vary in different jurisdictions and countries. Valid proof of identification must be presented to any staff member administering the Air New Zealand Lounge upon request.
The range, timing and scope of the food and beverage offering in any Air New Zealand Lounge shall operate strictly in accordance with any applicable license. Occupants may not open or consume their own alcohol in any Air New Zealand Lounge nor may they take any food or beverage out of an Air New Zealand Lounge when they leave (subject to the discretion of Air New Zealand Lounge staff).
Air New Zealand reserves the right to remove any such food or beverage item from an Occupant as they leave an Air New Zealand Lounge and it may amend, suspend or terminate the use of any of the Air New Zealand Lounge facilities and/or services at its sole discretion.
Air New Zealand may provide access to internet facilities in any Air New Zealand Lounge. Air New Zealand may not supervise the use of, and does not guarantee the security, quality, availability or speed of this facility. Air New Zealand shall not be liable for any third party content that causes offence or loss, nor shall Air New Zealand be responsible for any personal security breaches suffered by any person accessing the Air New Zealand Lounge internet facilities or for any loss or damage suffered as a result of the unavailability of the Air New Zealand Lounge internet facility (including any interruptions during use).
Certain facilities and services available in Air New Zealand Lounges are supplied by third party suppliers. The provision of these goods and services may be subject to the terms and conditions of the third party supplier and any claims relating to these goods and services should be made to the third party supplier.
Child and Infant access to Air New Zealand Lounges
An Eligible Entrant, that is a current member of the Air New Zealand Airpoints Programme holding Elite, Gold or Elite Partner Tier status or a valid Koru Membership at the time of entry, may be accompanied by a Child or Children into any Air New Zealand Lounge on a complimentary basis, when travelling together, in addition to any Guest access entitlement and subject to space availability on the day.
Children must be accompanied by an adult guardian at all times while accessing any Air New Zealand Lounge. Air New Zealand Lounge staff have the discretion to decline entry to large groups of Children (such as school groups, sports teams or social groups) if in their reasonable opinion the person is deemed to be gaining unreasonable access under the Child access rules.
An Eligible Entrant may be accompanied by an Infant when accessing an Air New Zealand Lounge.
No Children or Infants are permitted to access the Air New Zealand Koru Express facility in the Christchurch Regional Terminal.
Guest access to Air New Zealand Lounges
Eligible Entrants are entitled to invite a Guest or Guests to accompany them into any Air New Zealand Lounge at their port of departure, in accordance with the Air New Zealand Lounge Guest eligibility criteria detailed on the Website from time to time and the Terms. Eligibility criteria may be subject to change at Air New Zealand's discretion from time to time.
A Guest must be accompanied by an Eligible Entrant and able to present their boarding pass with an eligible flight number to the staff administering the Air New Zealand Lounge. The Guest must comply with all reasonable staff requests.
Guest access to any Air New Zealand Lounge is at all times subject to space availability. Access may be restricted at any time and Guests may be refused entry if the applicable Air New Zealand Lounge is full or nearing its capacity. An Eligible Entrant is prohibited from transferring or selling Guest access privileges to any third party for cash or any other consideration. If Air New Zealand Lounge staff have reason to believe that such a transaction has occurred, they may decline entry or remove an individual from any Air New Zealand Lounge.
No Guest is permitted to access the Air New Zealand Koru Express facility in the Christchurch Regional Terminal.
Behaviour and dress standards
All Occupants must meet the minimum smart casual dress standard when accessing a Lounge. Staff administering any Air New Zealand Lounge or Partner Lounge, reserve the right at any time to decline entry if clothing or footwear is inappropriate or offensive. Gang slogans or bare feet are prohibited. Staff have discretion to administer these standards as they reasonably deem appropriate in the circumstances.
Terms of entry to Partner Lounges
Eligible Entrants may access Partner Lounges subject to the individual lounge operator's terms of use and space availability. Partner Lounge eligibility criteria is detailed on the Website, as updated from time to time. Eligibility criteria may be subject to change at Air New Zealand's or at the lounge operator's discretion from time to time.
Children are not eligible to access Partner Lounges in addition to an applicable guest allowance, unless specified otherwise by the individual lounge operator.
Access terms and conditions for the use of Partner Lounges may vary between Partner Lounges. Further information can be found on the Website Partner Lounge directory page, as updated from time to time.
Terms of entry to Star Alliance Lounges
Certain Eligible Entrants are entitled to access Star Alliance Lounges. Access to Star Alliance Lounges is governed by the Star Alliance Lounge Access Policy.
Termination
A person's Lounge access entitlements may be terminated or suspended by Air New Zealand at any time, if that person or their Guests or Children breach these Terms or where Air New Zealand reasonably considers that they might pose a security risk.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Air New Zealand shall not be liable for any loss of or damage to the possessions of any person accessing a Lounge (whilst in the Lounge), unless and to the extent such loss or damage is caused by the negligence or willful misconduct of Air New Zealand. Air New Zealand's total liability, shall not exceed the direct losses incurred in relation to any loss of or damage to such possessions.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand, irrespective of the location of any Lounge. The courts of New Zealand have exclusive jurisdiction in connection with any legal action that may arise in respect of accessing an Air New Zealand Lounge or Partner Lounge.
